My Cultural Curiosity
My Cultural Curiosity
The aim of this Youth Exchange is to foster Inclusive Societies, specifically targeting European Youth Goal #3, by empowering participants to actively engage in intercultural dialogue, cultivate a deeper curiosity for other cultures, and broaden their understanding of aspects that may not be immediately apparent within a culture. By achieving these aims, the program seeks to contribute to the development of a more inclusive and harmonious European society, where young people embrace diversity and build bridges of understanding among different cultures.
The youth exchange will reunite 40 young participants from Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia. The mobility is planned to take place in Izvoare, RO, between 14-22/08/2023.
O1. Facilitating peer and intercultural dialogue among 40 young people from RO, HU, CZ, and SK, through the exploration of each other's countries' ideas, beliefs, customs, non-verbal language, works of art, rituals, and ceremonies.
O2. Cultivating empathy, tolerance, and respect for differences among the young participants, leading to the promotion of more inclusive and harmonious societies, thus contributing to European Youth Goal #3: Inclusive Societies.
By enhancing cultural understanding and appreciation, these objectives aim to positively impact the 40 young participants involved in the program.
Our mobility is correlated with our accreditation Objective #1, by improving a set of key competences (personal and learning to learn competence, cultural understanding and expression competence) among the young participants, part of which come from rural or small urban areas, as well as those facing fewer opportunities such as educational difficulties, economic, geographic, social, cultural differences, and health issues.
40 young people between 14-20 years from RO, HU, CZ and SK, out of which 30 have fewer opportunities in attending such non-formal transnational contexts, and have high motivation to explore and learn about other cultures. They will be guided by 5 group leaders and 1 facilitator.
