The aim of the seminar was to create a collaborative space for youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, youth project managers, and staff of youth organizations in order to enhance understanding of EU policies and the Erasmus Key Action 2 framework, fostering collaboration and the development of projects that contribute to achieving the EU Youth Goals.
Provide the opportunity for 18 youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, project managers, and staff to exchange ideas, best practices, and local realities in order to connect and build professional relationships in the field of youth work;
Increase participants' understanding of relevant EU policies and the Erasmus KA2 framework, including brainstorming, planning, and designing projects that align with the EU Youth Goals;
Establish channels and support groups for continuous feedback and improvement of youth project applications, aiming to submit at least three project applications by the next deadline.
The seminar united 18 dedicated educators, youth workers, trainers, teachers, and project managers from diverse backgrounds across Ukraine, Türkiye, Bulgaria, the Republic of Moldova, Slovakia, Croatia, Italy, Portugal and Romania. This dynamic gathering fostered collaboration and empowered participants with the knowledge and skills needed to develop impactful KA2 projects, strengthening international cooperation and innovation in education.
Through this seminar, we had the opportunity to collaborate with diverse organizations, connecting professionals from the academic sector with secondary schools and youth workers. Using various learning methods, all participants were eager to contribute to addressing the challenges faced by the youth they work with. Additionally, by combining different sectors—KA2 projects involving NGOs, higher education institutions, and schools—we created an environment where young people were at the center, regardless of the hat they were wearing. As they navigate multiple roles simultaneously, each influencing the other, this cross-sectoral approach fostered innovative, out-of-the-box thinking in tackling youth-related issues.
Our partner were: CJE - CLUBE DE JOVENS EUROPEUS (PT), Dijital Aktif Yenilikçi Sosyal Gençlik Derneği (TK) , European Academy of Strategic Training and Business (HR), Asociatia Agoje (RO), Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (UA), Klub 86 (SK), LICEUL TEHNOLOGIC "JACQUES M. ELIAS" (RO), ODV Inclusion Go ETS (IT) , Traditional Culture and Sustainable Development (BG).
The seminar centered on collaboration and the exchange of ideas, opinions, and practices, allowing participants to learn from challenges faced in different countries—from gender inequality in Türkiye, the lack of quality learning opportunities in Moldova and school dropout in rural areas in Romania to the war in Ukraine. Through discussions and hands-on activities, they simulated project writing, shared experiences, and learned by doing, strengthening their capacity to develop impactful initiatives.
DAY 1 - Introduction and Expertise Exchange: Building Team Cohesion
After a long journey and little sleep, we were eager to dive into a week of learning and connection. Icebreakers and team-building activities quickly turned strangers into a community, setting the stage for an inspiring week. The seminar kicked off with an introduction to the daily program, followed by the Communication Tree exercise, which challenged us to listen, communicate, and understand each other better.
DAY 2 - Youthpass Process | EU Youth Policies
We delved into the Youthpass process, reflecting on our learning objectives and the role of self-assessment in personal and professional growth. The discussions then shifted to EU youth policies, where we explored key frameworks shaping youth work and analyzed how our projects could align with EU priorities through case studies and group discussions.
DAY 3 - Erasmus+ Programme Overview and KA2 Opportunities
Building on our understanding of EU policies, we explored the Erasmus+ Programme and its funding opportunities through interactive sessions and real-life examples. A deep dive into KA2 projects helped us analyze successful cases, discuss eligibility, and brainstorm ideas, setting the stage for project development.
DAY 4 - EU Youth Goals and Contribution to Achieve Them
After our morning kickoff, we explored the European Youth Goals, reflecting on their impact and how our projects could contribute. Through hands-on exercises, we mapped out potential outcomes, gaining a clearer vision of how to align our initiatives with European priorities.
DAY 5 - Starting with the Problem
With a strong foundation, we focused on identifying key challenges in youth work and exploring solutions. In the afternoon, a study visit to Sovata connected us with local youth organizations, offering real-world insights and fresh inspiration for our projects.
DAY 6 - Cooperation on Project Ideas
Building on our reflections, we refined project ideas through Problem and Solution Tree exercises, shaping clear objectives and impact. Workshops on partnerships and transnational collaboration strengthened our proposals, laying a solid foundation for future Erasmus+ KA2 applications. By the end of the day, we had a better-shaped plan for our projects.
DAY 7 - Application Process and Draft
As the seminar neared its end, we tackled KA2 applications, exploring budgeting, proposal writing, and technical requirements. A deadline simulation pushed us to refine our drafts, and peer feedback helped strengthen our project plans.
DAY 8 - Evaluation and Dissemination
On the final day, we received feedback on our drafts and tips for improvement. A session on dissemination strategies helped shape plans for sharing results. As we reflected and celebrated our journey, certificates marked the end of an enriching experience. We left with new knowledge, strong partnerships, and a shared vision for future Erasmus+ KA2 projects.
The photos tell the story of the participants’ journey—the moments of deep focus as they brainstormed, the struggles of refining ideas, and the excitement of finding solutions together. They capture the curiosity in their discussions, the energy of teamwork, and the bonds they built along the way. From intense problem-solving to shared laughter during icebreakers, every image reflects the spirit of collaboration, learning, and growth that defined their time together. Through these snapshots, we see not just their work, but the friendships, challenges, and inspiration that made this experience unforgettable.
The 18 participants engaged in a dynamic exchange of ideas, deepening their understanding of the EU Youth Goals and the four horizontal priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme. Through discussions, workshops, and collaborative exercises, they explored ways to align their projects with inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and active participation. The seminar fostered meaningful connections, creating a strong network of professionals committed to cross-border collaboration and innovative youth work.
The EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027 is a framework established by the Council of the European Union to enhance cooperation in the youth sector. It centers on three core objectives:
Engage: Encouraging young people to participate actively in democratic and civic activities.
Connect: Promoting opportunities for young individuals to connect across Europe and beyond, fostering learning mobility, solidarity, and intercultural understanding.
Empower: Supporting youth empowerment through quality, innovation, and recognition of youth work.
These objectives aim to provide young Europeans with the resources and opportunities necessary to participate fully in society and to develop their potential.
The EU Youth Goals, adopted in 2018 as part of the EU Youth Strategy (2019–2027), outline key areas for improving youth policies and opportunities across Europe. They are:
Connecting EU with Youth
Equality of All Genders
Inclusive Societies
Information & Constructive Dialogue
Mental Health & Wellbeing
Moving Rural Youth Forward
Quality Employment for All
Quality Learning
Space and Participation for All
Sustainable Green Europe
Youth Organizations & European Programs
